DB & DBB Ball Valves

Two independent block valves in a single compact body for critical applications demanding the highest safety

What Are DB & DBB Ball Valves?

DBB (Double Block and Bleed) ball valves integrate two independent block valves into a single compact body. The integrated bleed valve allows for controlled depressurization and venting of the internal cavity, making maintenance operations safer and more efficient.

DB (Double Block) ball valves offer the same advantages of the split body design and are internally equipped with a double seal. They are available without the bleed function in a wide range of sizes, ratings, materials and types.

Common applications include: critical isolation in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical plants, offshore platforms and FPSO where space constraints are a primary concern, and any service requiring controlled cavity venting between two independent block valves.

Key Features

Two Independent Block Valves

The DBB design integrates two separate blocking elements into a single body, providing double isolation and allowing controlled depressurization of the cavity between them.

Integrated Bleed Valve

The bleed valve allows controlled venting of the internal cavity, making maintenance operations safer and more efficient without requiring separate bleed fittings.

Reduced Footprint and Weight

Compared to an equivalent assembly of separate valves and fittings, the DBB design significantly reduces overall footprint, weight, and the number of potential leak points.

Double Seal Design (DB)

DB versions are internally equipped with a double seal, offering the same structural advantages of the split body design with enhanced sealing performance.

Configuration Options

Ball valves can be customized to meet your specific requirements:

Design

• Double Block (DB)
• Double Block & Bleed (DBB)

Type

• Floating
• Trunnion
• Split Body

End Connections

• Threaded (FxF, MxF)
• Butt Weld (BWxBW, BWxF)
• Socket Weld (SWxF)
• Plain End (PExF)
• Flanged (FLxF, FLxFL)
• Hub

Where DB & DBB Valves Excel

Ball Valves are the ideal choice for:

Critical isolation service in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical plants where double block and cavity venting is required by procedure or regulation

Offshore platforms and FPSO where space and weight constraints make a single-body DBB preferable to separate valve assemblies

Applications requiring controlled cavity depressurization before opening or maintenance

Sampling and injection service — available in dedicated Sampling/Injection DBB configurations (see dedicated page)
