SB & SBB Ball Valves

Single Block and Bleed design: Compact valves integrating a main ball valve and bleed function for reduced footprint and simplified maintenance

What Are SB & SBB Ball Valves?

SBB (Single Block and Bleed) ball valves are compact valves that integrate a main ball valve for blocking flow and one or more bleed valves for releasing pressure or taking samples. They offer advantages such as reduced footprint, costs, and leaks, increased safety, and simplified maintenance.

SB (Single Block) ball valves are also available without the bleed function and come in a wide range of sizes, ratings, materials and types.

Common applications include: process isolation with integrated pressure relief, sampling points, and any service where a single blocking valve with bleed capability replaces a separate valve-and-bleed assembly.

Key Features

Integrated Block and Bleed

The SBB design combines a main ball valve for flow blocking with one or more bleed valves for pressure release or sampling — eliminating separate bleed assemblies and associated leak paths.

Reduced Footprint and Costs

By integrating block and bleed functions in a single compact body, the SBB reduces installation footprint, overall costs, and the number of potential leak sources compared to separate valve assemblies.

Increased Safety

The integrated design minimizes the number of external connections and potential failure points, enhancing overall system safety.

Vent Ball Valve Option

From model 900 to 918, vent with ball valves is available, extending the functional range of the SB/SBB family.

Configuration Options

Ball valves can be customized to meet your specific requirements:

Design

• Single Block (SB)
• Single Block & Bleed (SBB)

Type

• Floating
• Trunnion
• Split Body

End Connections

• Threaded (FxF, MxF)
• Butt Weld (BWxBW, BWxF)
• Socket Weld (SWxF)
• Plain End (PExF)
• Flanged (FLxF, FLxFL)

Applications

Ball Valves are the ideal choice for:

Process isolation with integrated pressure relief where a separate bleed valve would add cost and leak risk

Sampling points requiring controlled pressure release before sample extraction

Installations requiring minimized footprint and weight compared to separate valve and bleed assembliesmaintenance
